Just thought I’d give you a quick head’s up about a free online quilting class from Craftsy. It’s called their Block of the Month class – they ran it last year as well. I signed up. I failed miserably. I don’t think quilting is for me, sadly, I don’t seem to have the precision required. 🙁 BUT it might be exactly what you’re after – plus, it’s free. A useful freebie? Sweet!
There are some cool benefits to this class. For starters, you just make a little bit each month and then at the end of the year you’ve got yourself a quilt. Nice! Christmas present for your most treasured loved one? (Yes, of course that can be you, or you know, me *hint hint*) Sorted. “Little by little and bit by bit” is the way my grandmother said to get a job done. That’s exactly what this class helps you achieve with each monthly section building up to an entire sampler by the end of the year. Love it.
Craftsy also highlight the following features:
- 2012 Block of the Month had over 120,000 students from around the world.
- It is a free course with a new block released each month.
- At the end of the year you will have a finished quilt sampler.
- Learn new quilt techniques each month.
- Taught by Laura Nownes, author of Quilts! Quilts!! Quilts!!!
- Missed a month? Starting late? It’s okay – access never expires!
You know what else I like apart from a useful freebie? A win-win situation! Craftsy are also running a competition around sign-ups for this class. The details are as follows: Everyone who signs up for the Craftsy 2013 Block of the Month course through an affiliate link, by January 31, 2013, will be entered to win a course kit with 11.5 yards of Robert Kaufman fabric, a $100 value. We will be giving away two of these kits. If a contest winner registered for the class through your affiliate link, you will also win!
(Actually, I think that’s a win-win-WIN situation if you include Craftsy in the equation, but hey $100 of Robert Kaufman fabric? Why, I don’t mind if I do.)
Chomping at the bit to get going? Then clickity-click my nice banner below to get started. Enjoy!
Remember that by clicking on any of my banners or links for Craftsy you’ll be benefiting me as an affiliate. If you’re not down with this then you can still access all of Craftsy’s great classes by going directly to www.craftsy.com (non-affiliate link). I’ll still love ya!
